Kinkára is a living regenerative reserve and biodynamic farm. Guests agree to respect property boundaries, organic permaculture gardens, and wildlife habitats. A crisp quiet curfew is observed throughout the tent villages from 22:00 to 07:00. Kinkára operates a strict zero-waste policy; single-use plastics are prohibited across the property, and all organic matter is recycled within our closed-loop compost systems.

Exclusive retreat buyouts grant full, private access to Kinkára’s 250-acre reserve, 31 Lotus Belle tents, and the 140-person Teak Movement Pavilion with zero outside visitors. To secure exclusive dates, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required upon contract signing. The remaining 50% balance, along with finalized rooming lists and dietary requirements, is due 60 days prior to group arrival.

Cancellations made 90+ days prior to arrival are eligible for a refund less a 15% administrative coordination fee. Cancellations received 60–89 days prior to arrival receive a 50% credit applicable to future dates within 12 months. Cancellations within 60 days of arrival are non-refundable. In the event of extreme inclement weather, mountain road blockages, or natural disaster contingencies, Kinkára management coordinates private shuttle rerouting or rescheduling credits.

Kinkára is located at 800m–1100m ASL in the foothills of Mt. Chirripó. Guests acknowledge that rustic mountain terrain, unpaved gravel roads, river boulders, and trails require sensible footwear and reasonable physical caution. A 4WD or AWD high-clearance vehicle is strictly required for the final 4 km unpaved ascent to Santa Elena. Guests electing to self-drive without an appropriate 4x4 vehicle assume full personal responsibility; private concierge shuttle transfers are readily available.

Casa Bulú serves wood-fired mountain cuisine harvested daily from our permaculture soils. Table reservations are held for 20 minutes past the scheduled reservation time. Custom dietary preparations and severe food allergy accommodations require a minimum of 48h advance notice prior to service. Outside alcohol is subject to a standard corkage fee, and private buyout closures take precedence over non-resident bookings.

These terms, reservations, and retreat contracts shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. Any legal dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to sanctuary services shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent civil courts of San José and Pérez Zeledón, Costa Rica.
